A Perfect Match

by Mayori Krues from the September 21, 2015 issue

Tagline: Once Christina opened her heart to the possibility of finding love, love found her!

Observations: I very much liked the theme of this story--that love doesn't pay any attention to age, however, the story itself struck me as a bit average. The setting wasn't anything special, The characters were a bit flat. The plot wasn't anything new. I'm not saying that all of these things need to really stand out, but in this story, to me, none of them do. I think if just one of those things--setting, characterization or plot--and been unusual or more beefed up, this story would have been much better.

Again, please remember, I'm only one person and this is only my personal opinion. Obviously, Johnene saw fit to publish it so, to her, it was worth $800. :)

I was under the impression that I had put my comment in this section; however, it showed up in Romance of the 14th. Maybe roof rat (the kind that get onto the roof and find a way into the house) stress is getting to me.

I kind of agree with you on this one, Kate. I enjoyed the story, but it did not have any new angles. There was no "meet cute" or anything else to set it apart. I especially thought the ending was kind of bland. The author did make good use of back story, though.

This kind of story does make me wonder how a writer is supposed to figure out what would sell to WW. If I had written this story, I would have never sent it in because I would have thought it too simple. Go figure.

I thought this was a cute story. Did notice it was all backstory.

I just what the story the way it appears to me and let WW editors decide if it fits them.

Opps. That's write the story, not what.
